Eugene Cordero →
I just finished work on a new site for Eugene Cordero. Of course it’s built with HTML5 & CSS 3, plus there’s lots of spiffy details (both in the front end and the back) like big fonts with lots of text shadows, programmatic text sizing, automatic iCal creation for shows, a corresponding Tumblr theme, drag and drop videos, and a whole bunch more. I like when I get to work with...

Improv Nonsense: Funny, Smart and No →
improvnonsense: I’m interested in a discussion on this, although I don’t need you to tell me how people can use the words “funny” “smart” and “no” dangerously. I need ways to use those terms well. At the advanced level, it is often what is missing. I don’t think I have any authority in writing this, but I am an improv nerd, so I am writing it anyway. As Alex Berg of Convoy said on a...

The Geoffrey Melinda Georges Stories →
“Danny, I liked it, it made me laugh” A while back, I wrote a book called The Geoffrey Melinda Georges Stories and I was going to maybe get copies made up, or try and put it up on some ebook store, but I don’t think anything like that is ever going to happen. So, here is the PDF of it. Please read and share and enjoy and Happy New Year.

Big New Version of CMPNDM Available Now
A big new update to CMPNDM, the Tumblr theme I created with over 20,000 installs, is available now in the Theme Garden for you installation pleasure. It still looks similar, but all of the underlying code, the HTML, CSS and Javascript (including funky HTML5 canvas triangle drawing), has been redone. There’s better support for Photosets, Photosets as Slideshows, Multiple Dynamic Columns,...

Infinite Scroll indicator I’m working on for the next update of CMPNDM. It’s a CSS animated PNG on top of Canvas drawn triangles.

Steaks Inside
With summer over, and it getting dark too early for grilling, it’s time to cook the steaks inside. I use this simple recipe that Henry (who now runs Geaux Plates down in Nawleenz ) relayed to me about three years ago: min on each side on the stove top then in the oven for like 10 min at 500 How y’all do your steaks?

Farley Elliott: MidtownLunch LA →
Farley took me on a date to Papa Cristo’s for gyros and let’s just say I had a real “tzatziki” of a time… ^_^ ;) :-o ;) ^_^ farlizzle: Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch: I’m not afraid to take a lunchtime drive, which really opens up the possibilities. I’ll always love the gryos at Papa Cristo’s on Pico Blvd. or the simple deli sandwiches from Mike’s Deli on Slauson. I...

Let's get this over with now
Amongst all the Apple announcements made today, the Find My Friends feature may raise eyebrows. I have a feeling, from my past experiences as an Apple nerd, that a lot of people are going to be using this feature to decry the iPhone/iOS. Take a look at the page: it’s an opt-in feature, you can choose who to share with, and it can be flipped on or off. It is not Apple or the cellular...

UCB Modify Safari Extension
A few weeks ago the UCB site was redone and there were a few things that I missed from the old version. One was seeing little pictures of the performers on the show pages. Another was having the most current week be at the top of the schedule. So, I changed those things with a Safari Extension. Now the little pictures are back and the schedule page doesn’t show past weeks. If you use Safari,...

Drop Them Specs
Another article from the never-gonna-happen Minutiæ #6. I’m pretty sure this one went through the editorial process: In the small of town of Hardonigan, GA chivalry still thrives. Although the days of laying down a jacket over a puddle or having a chaperon on a date may be long gone, the practice of letting your romantic intentions be known is still going strong. Here in Hardonigan, they...
